Free to be Three

It's been a while but I want to share...

We now have a three year old!

It has been such a joy watching Mae transform from a toddler to a little girl.  I feel blessed to have a daughter who teaches me so much about life.

Posted below are some pictures from our annual Mom*tog sesh.

Enjoy.

Happy Spring from SoCal

I just wanted to share some pictures of my little muse with you.
&  say one more thing taking pictures of toddlers is tough!

I miss the days where I could plop her in a basket, adjust my camera settings and take pictures to my hearts content.

Now I have to be fast.

I also have to be able to bust out in Lion King monologue, as requested by my daughter, in the most public of places.  Which entertained not only my daughter but also the people sitting outside the coffee shop of Old Town La Quinta’s square.

Miss Mae Adelle, your spunk and spontaneity may leave mommy exhausted at the end of the day {or by naptime} but I love you like crazy.  Thank you for letting me take pictures that I can {hopefully} get in the mail before Easter.

 Wishing everyone a beautiful spring!

little love.

Yesterday was Valentines Day and this self confessed Mom*tographer was totally wanting to take some pictures.  My daughter on the other hand, was not having it. That's the life of photographing your toddler. It's their world and you are just in it.
It all worked out though.  I was able to focus on her face and capture that transformative time where her features are changing— from that of a baby to a little girl.

Mae, you take my breath away.  You have taught me to love in depths that I never knew possible.

ps.  No one would have ever known that sitting on your lap was the whole Toy Story gang.

 Xo,
Mommy

I was able to get the following pictures the next day at Cahilla Park.  Mae was thrilled to climb rocks and play in the desert landscape.  Mommy had a hidden motive.  I had my camera around my neck and was ready for the moment—A Mom*Togs gotta do what a Mom*Togs gotta do.

branded.

I have an addiction.  I joined the Pinterest world and am totally obsessed.   It’s completely normal to pin until my eyes are bloodshot, right? Or pretend to be sleeping under the covers but really adding pins in bed? It has gotten so bad that my husband got a little jealous had to give an intervention and we now have rules about it.  I can't help it, what's a DIY junkie to do?

Pinning of course!  Wanting to connect with other  people passionate about photography, I began a board called "My Art" where I pinned pictures from my blog.  I was hoping for something but never fathomed it would spread like it did.  It was crazy to watch my pictures start re-pinning from the single digits, to double digits, to hundreds to  over two thousand! —In only a matter of days!  Which has me thinking... maybe I should have watermarked these?

So thank you Brea, Mae & the Mosher’s for letting me pin your pictures in the name of art.  Which are now re-pinned on 2,000+ boards & counting.

I'm in the works of creating a watermark that will be on all my pictures from now on.  I like to call it my momma bear stamp where I assume ownership and responsibility for my work.  I am excited for this opportunity to grow as a visual artist.

Blessings,
Meg
